How Different Generative AI Chatbots Respond to the Same Question

 With the rise LLMs and different generative AI models, I decided to ask four different AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, and Perplexity) to answer the same question: “What is the best way to deploy generative AI in K-12 Schools? Answer this question with a short, concise answer.”, and each AI came back with varying answers, each highlighting their strengths and abilities. 

ChatGPT’s Answer: “The best way to deploy generative AI in K–12 schools is by integrating it as a supportive learning tool—focused on personalized tutoring, creative assistance, and teacher productivity—while ensuring strict data privacy, age-appropriate content filters, and digital literacy education.” 

What This Shows About ChatGPT: This response highlights ensuring online security for students and staff, while less focusing on potential ethical issues. This is meant as more of a broader tech side while teachers can create a more ethics baseline. Therefore, it reveals that ChatGPT is more focused on online privacy and age-appropriate content safety. 

Copilot’s Answer: “Integrate generative AI as a supportive tool for personalized learning, creative expression, and teacher efficiency—while ensuring strong safeguards, digital literacy education, and equity in access.”  

What This Shows About Copilot: This shows how Copilot is coded to give an overall answer that covers all the bases; however, it prevents it from going too deep, making it a mile wide and an inch deep.  

Perplexity’s Answer: “The best way to deploy generative AI in K-12 schools is to integrate it responsibly, with a focus on personalized, inclusive, and ethical learning—start with a needs assessment, set clear goals, offer staff training, encourage hands-on experimentation, address data privacy, and ensure human oversight while empowering educators and students to use AI tools thoughtfully.” 

What This Shows About Perplexity: Perplexity’s answer shows how it’s coded to give an answered focused on social and ethical issues, while also ensuring online safety and security. 

Gemini’s Answer: “The best way to deploy generative AI in K-12 schools is through a phased and strategic approach that prioritizes a strong ethical framework, comprehensive training, and integration into existing educational goals. Simply introducing the technology without a plan can lead to significant challenges.” 

What This Shows About Gemini: The bolder text shows how Gemini is designed to show emphasis and focuses on the educational side and gives a warning about potential issues. 

While these answers may seem fairly like each other, further investigation into each answer shows that each one is different and gives different answers that align with its own personal code, making each one geared for different purposes.
